Morgellons
Disease: What are the symptoms? Are there treatments? What
do the fibers mean? Answers to questions like these about
Morgellons can be found here.
Q. Is Morgellons Disease contagious?
A. Truthfully,
no one knows yet. However, It has been shown that in many
cases. If one family member shows signs of having Morgellons
many if not all others in the same household also have the
signs and symptoms of Morgellons.
Q. Is there a cure for Morgellons
Disease?
A. Currently,
there is no "cure" although, Morgellons has been
shown to respond to the same types of treatment given to those
that tested positive for Chlamydophila pneumonia. So if treated
in such a way for a longenough period of time with the correct
antibiotics do show a decrease and in many cases the symptoms
are resolved. It still is to early to say that there is a
cure all formula for Morgellons.
Q. What is Morgellons Disease?
A. Currently,
it is hard to tell exactly what type of disease Morgellons
disease really is. It is fairly new and still not understood
and in some parts of the medical community it isn't even recognize
as an illness however this is quickly changing as others begin
to take note of the existence of Morgellons, For example in
January of 2008, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) began
a large urgent study of Morgellons when it noticed many reports
being sent in and other families registering in a morgellons
database which as of this writing totaled more then 11,000
families. Of the families in the database, around 500 of them
are said to be in the Bay Area of California.
Many doctors are beginning to think
that Morgellons Disease is a chronic infectious disease. This
is in part to the fact that members of the same household
that have one member of the household that shows signs and
symptoms of Morgellons will also have many if not all other
family members living in the same household showing signs
of Morgellons.
Many if not all patients that show
signs of Morgellons always complain of an itching, biting
sensation and feelings of bugs "crawling" on and
or under the skin, other signs of Morgellons are skin legions
which also have "fiber" like growth from within
the legions. Also reported are fatigue, cognitive changes,
loss of memory, changes in mood and serious hallucinations
